The above instructions show you how to change the VAT rate. Before making immediate VAT code changes, you should consider how you will deal with sales invoices from 2009 still to be updated, or 2009 purchases at 15% VAT which have still to be entered onto your system. There are a variety of strategies and methods to handle these situations, as well as other common company requirements such as detailed VAT reports where your VAT period will include old and new VAT rate transactions.
